Palihotel's Thai Thai Massage Opens

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

thai massage!

We like our rubdowns like our first dates: mellow and handsy.

So when we heard that Palihouse’s quirky-cute new sister property, Palihotel, is opening next Wednesday and has its own Thai massage spa, we were all ears (and legs, arms, back, and neck).

Upon entering the sanctuarylike space (organic cotton beds, wraparound curtains for privacy), we were handed a pair of loose-fitting Thai fisherman pants. After that, our masseuse got to work, rhythmically kneading and stretching our body from head to toe along our Sen energy lines (similar to Chinese meridians).

Founded by the Buddha’s personal physician, the 2,500-year-old practice also includes some rather kooky techniques, such as knuckle cracking, back walking, and body bending. Sure, it felt a little odd, but the results (increased flexibility, corrected body alignment) made us a believer.

We already want to Thai another one on.

Thai Thai Massage, Palihotel, 7950 Melrose Avenue, at North Hayworth Avenue, West Hollywood (323-656-4100 or pali-hotel.com), $35 for 30 minutes, $50 for 60 minutes, and $70 for 90 minutes plus an additional $5 hotel pass fee.
