Don't Sweat It

Guide to Workout Gear

Raise your hand if you resolved to really, seriously, truly get in shape this year. (You worked a muscle — there’s a start!)

Frankly, we don’t care if you’re a size 4 or 14, but we do know that nothing is better than an endorphin high. So to get the new year started right, we found some stylish gear so you’ll never use “I have nothing to wear!” as your excuse to stay on the couch.

Start basic: Underwear not necessary. Wear a g-string if you must. For comfort as well as support, wear a sports bra. Avoid the dreaded uni-boob look with a bra with underwire.

Pants: We dig the flare Everlast Microplex Dance Pants. For a wide-leg look, try One Step Ahead’s Boot Pants. On top, any old tank will do, but it’s hard to beat the classic Hanes.

Warm-up suits are cool. Keep it real in Adidas, or be trendy in Puma Velour.

Work your inner Sporty Spice with Juicy short shorts.

If you’re more of a down dog, hit your trendoid yoga class in style with Nuala gear, created by Christy Turlington and Puma.

Cold? Wear a fleece. And don’t forget gloves and a scarf.

Stashing things in your pants or sports bra can work, but so can Nike’s backpack jacket.

Looking perfectly cut isn’t incentive enough? Design your own sneakers.

Still worried you won’t look good on the treadmill? (Sigh.) Take desperate measure: a padded sports bra. Now get up and go, girl.
