Strange how we always bemoan summer’s end.
Really, now. What’s to miss? The scorching heat? The smog levels? The unforgivingly skimpy clothes?
Which reminds us: New season means new fashion. (See? Now you’re perking up.) First stop for shoppers: Kids Are Alright in Echo Park. Owners Maritza and Vanessa have decked out their spankin’ new boutique in bright colors and stocked it with back-to-school paraphernalia to celebrate fall and everything wonderful that comes with it. Stuff like a pink Jackie O.-esque gold-buttoned coat by Edward An. Or a cozy hooded panda sweatshirt and a long-underwear top by Japanese designer Maya Maxx Love. Or playful polka-dotted pumps. (You’ll find those on the teacher’s desk, right next to the globe.) So stash those open-toed shoes and teensy tanks. And quit your crying.
Summer’s over.
And good riddance, we say.
