Now that every label under the sun has decided the rain boot is this season’s It obligatory object of affection, many of us are left wondering how not to look like a preschooler stomping in the mud.

Pucci’s boots are too busy. The Marc by Marc Jacobs spin is a tad pricey (and impossible to wear with everything). Who knew mall master Banana Republic would design a Wellie to fit your wardrobe and the bill? Not your typical galoshes, the slick rubber booties have an adorable white heel and are less about puddle-splashing, more about stylish strolls in the mist.

Decidedly non-rainy-day solids, like bright orange and berry red, just may have you wishing for showers.

Though, as always, be careful what you wish for. No rain dances. Some of us like the sunshine.
