Occupational Hazard

Wildhagen Hats

Cowboy. Trucker. Newsboy.

As job titles, all have considerable staying power. As hat trends? Not so much.

The answer, clearly, is to avoid anything that sounds like a full-time occupation. Wildhagen hats utterly transcend the here-today-gone-in-five-seconds fate suffered by most headgear these days. Made from ultra-lightweight fabrics, the architectural toppers feature quirkily elegant details: huge brims, reversible Japanese prints, brightly colored accents. Our favorite styles include the Frenchy, the Merganser, and the Metre Maid.

Okay, so that last one sounds suspiciously like a real job. But not to worry. You don’t actually have to wear a hat that looks like hers.

Available at Show, 1722 North Vermont Avenue, between Hollywood Boulevard and Franklin Avenue (323-644-1960).
