Food, clothing, and fabulous hair: the three basics in any girl’s life.
Though perhaps when talking about the Meatpacking District, one should refer to the trio as wait-two-hours-for-a-trendy-table, aren’t-these-random-overpriced-labels-you’ve-never-heard-of-charming?, and when-I’m-not-trimming-your-split-ends-I’m-styling-Madonna-on-her-jet.
Stylist to the beautiful Orlando Pita has just opened the doors of his first salon. And, given the glittery circles he travels in (runway shows, magazines, and album covers), it’s no accident that he’s staked his scissors in Bumble and bumble and Sally Herschberger turf.
Orlo is located on the third floor of a wonderfully minimalist, whitewashed space. You know, to be in the middle of the action and above it at the same time. Word is the cuts you’ll get from Pita and his three stylists (Vivian, Roberto, and Chad) and colorist (Andre) are outrageous. Not only on your hair, but also on your wallet.
Pita claims, however, that Page Six is exaggerating about the $800 price tag.
To which we say, we should goddamn hope so.
Orlo, 34 Gansevoort Street, between Hudson and Greenwich Streets (212-242-3266).
