See if this rings a bell: Holly Handbag just can’t find the right purse to go with her favorite new pumps, so she quits her corporate job to follow her dream of being the next Kate Spade.
Blah, blah, blah …
The everyone-and-her-mother handbag-designing story has gotten so old, it’s hard to get jazzed about a new one.
Until you get a glimpse of Still Co., a slamming new line of purses designed by two San Francisco locals. Yes, the tale’s the same — the creators left jobs in marketing to start their business — but the results are surprisingly fresh. Available in colors like aqua, peacock, chipotle, turmeric, white cocoa, and bitter chocolate, the styles include everything from the perfect daytime carryall to a weekender.
And by local, we mean local. The leather comes from The Hide House in Napa, the lining from Silicon Valley, and the sewing, courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Wu, takes place in a spot overlooking Mission Dolores. So check them out.
Just don’t get any big ideas.
