Person A: eats whole grains, doesn’t flush every time, and makes weekly drop-offs at the local recycling center.

Person B: uses hair spray (even — gasp! — aerosol), throws pop cans in the regular trash, and sporadically remembers to put used papers in the bins at the El stop.

How long would it take Person B to prove to Person A that she was just as environmentally conscious?

About the same amount of time it would take for her to get a mani/pedi at Salon Echo in Edgewater.
