No woman can be all things to all people. Superwoman? Bad dancer, rumor has it. Martha? Extremely anal cellmate, we’d be more than willing to bet.
But take a swing by the just-opened Vicki Lee’s Bakeshop, and you may start to think otherwise. Vicki Lee Boyajian, the tiny tornado who bakes like a storm and first wowed the neighborhood with her original (and much-loved) spot almost 25 years ago, has finally returned.
Want a place to meet for coffee and eat healthy? Do it here. Rather pig out on exquisite, homemade cookies, tarts, and cakes? Vicki’s your girl.
Push past the bright yellow awning and into the sleek mod space, and find specials like Trapelo slaw (fennel, lime juice, and jalapenos). Or dig into gourmet soups, plus any of the green, grain, and pasta salads created by chef Nora Martin Buchanan.
It’s all available for take-out, too, for nights when you’re way too tired to cook.
Because no matter how good you are, you just can’t do everything.
Vicki Lee’s Bakeshop, Catering and Take-Away, 105 Trapelo Road, Belmont (617-489-5007 or vickilees.com).
