Father’s Day Guide

He read your school report. He let you stay up past bedtime. He laughed at your jokes. He even let you smoke.

So show the poor man some gratitude this Father’s Day.

Grand presents for any big daddy can be found at Amara. If he’s into clothes, boxer shorts are always welcome, as are socks and custom-made belts. (And while you’re at it, why not make it easier for him to iron everything?)

If he loves the great outdoors, odds are he’ll appreciate a healthy shrub and a garden gnome to keep it company.

So he’s a dab hand in the kitchen? He’ll need groovy utensils and chic ingredients, followed by a generous pudding. After that, he’ll want a long bath with some reassuringly masculine potions. Then put him to bed with a decent bottle of whiskey, either indoors or out. Or skip all that and book him into a decent spa.

Techno-dads will appreciate having broadband on their mobile. A stint on a yacht would be nice or, at a fraction of the price, some novelty plasters won’t fail to amuse.

Heaven knows, it wouldn’t be the first time you made him chuckle.
