Short Story

Catia Chien’s Artwork

Technically, you outgrew picture books years ago.

But on occasion you still break out your secret copy of Goodnight Moon before bedtime.

Which is why you’ll take comfort in Catia Chien’s storybook-like artwork. The Brazilian artist’s pieces feature dreamy watercolor landscapes enlivened by colorful Edward Gorey-esque characters. The limited-edition prints will undoubtedly capture your imagination: “Paper Planes” depicts a girl being carried away by paper planes, “Thorn City” shows a dark and eerie village, and “Orange Flowers” is a view of giant daisies.

Chien’s talents don’t stop at paintings. She has created concept art for films and comics and contributed to an anthology of art inspired by Belle and Sebastian songs.

Clients can also commission special pieces based on a word of their choice.

For those who are still into that whole reading thing.
