Ranahan Jeans

Gather round the fire, kids, and give a listen to an old-timer’s tale.

Back yonder, in the early days of 2002, there was a brand of jeans called Farmer. With a nice, straight-leg fit and rough-hewn fabric, they were good for ranchin’, ropin’, and struttin’, too. Then one day, Farmer founder Amy Gammon gathered up her sister Allison and started a line called Ranahan.

Now, these two knew a little something about jeans, but one heck of a lot about cowboys. See, their dad, actor James Gammon, played about a hundred of ’em. (Ranahan is rancher-speak for No. 1 cowboy.)

They went ahead and put together a pair of jeans for today’s urban cowboy: vintage, Western detailing and a lipstick pocket in the leg. There’s both a boot cut and skinny style, and each pair is made right here in the good ol’ U.S. of A.

So giddy up and grab yourself a pair quick. ’Fore this here teller breaks out her harmonica.

Available at Jean Therapy, 524 Commonwealth Avenue, Kenmore Square (617-266-6555 or jean-therapy.com). To see styles, go to ranahanjeans.com.
