Bi-Rite Creamery Opens

If retailers can deck the halls in August, why can’t they jump-start the summer during the holidays?

Bi-Rite Creamery does just that with its perfectly timed (and long-anticipated) opening.

The new gourmet scoop shop and bakery dishes seasonal ice creams year round. Flavors include salted caramel, ginger, and roasted pumpkin, and they’re served in organic cones.

Watch yourself devour a chocolate sundae topped with olive oil and sea salt in front of the mirror by the wooden bar (no room for tables). Other treats (house-made brownies, toffee chip cookies, cakes, and pies) beg to be taken home.

Like parent company Bi-Rite Market, the creamery uses only organic and local ingredients. Call ahead if you want to find out what’s in store.

But no matter what’s on the menu, it’s always the season.
