Music to Your Year

New Year’s Playlist

You don’t need a resolution; you need a theme song. A tune that’ll make you feel like you can conquer the world. Or at least get out of bed. Some suggestions:

“Blankest Year,” by Nada Surf (Bad day? Flip it. You’re gonna have a party.)

“I Predict a Riot,” by Kaiser Chiefs (A little anarchy goes a long way.)

“You Only Live Once,” by The Strokes (Job interview? First date? Time for some air guitar.)

“Boys Wanna Be Her,” by Peaches (Balls to the wall.)

“Go-Go Gadget Gospel,” by Gnarls Barkley (Inspiration in under three minutes.)

“Love Me or Hate Me,” by Lady Sovereign (They’re just jealous.)

“LDN,” by Lily Allen (“Walking on Sunshine” redux.)

“Combat Baby,” by Metric (Sometimes life leaves you fatigued.)

“Kick, Push,” by Lupe Fiasco (Skateboarding as a metaphor for life — don’t forget your pads.)

“There’s Always Someone Cooler Than You,” by Ben Folds (Because there so isn’t.)
