Shop Making Sense

Juniper Opens

Too small. Not cute. All messy inside. Ever notice that finding the perfect boutique can be as tough as nabbing a mate?

And as in love, you never know where you’ll find a contender.

Take Juniper, a clothing and housewares shop in sleepy Madrona that celebrated its grand opening this week.

Helmed by Lisa Clinton (who sharpened her eye at Fremont’s Les Amis), the airy, modern spot is way cleaner and cooler than your last blind date.

What’s more, it’s effortlessly stylish (stocked with chic dresses, T-shirts, and Parisian totes), thoughtful (carries green labels like Loomstate, Stewart+Brown, and ZoeTees), and wears its heart on its sleeve (you’ll be greeted by Clinton’s foster cat). And luckily, some spring merch (Virginia Johnson pillows and totes) has yet to arrive.

Because you’d hate to believe in love at first sight.

Juniper, 3314 East Spring Street, at 34th Avenue (206-838-7496 or juniperinmadrona.com).
