You were not the model scout.

You mastered the French braid faster than a square knot. Learned the hard way that bears smell fear … and berry-scented lipgloss. And you still haven’t lived down that little archery incident.

Still, when it comes to braving the great outdoors, you heed those judicious words: be prepared. As in, stop on your way up the mountain to grab fixings for the world’s most perfect s’mores.

One part fire, one part sugar, and two parts pure genius, they start with handmade marshmallows from Hyde Park confectioner Tiny Trapeze, whose puffy, powder-coated squares put Jet-Pufs to shame. Roast one over a campfire, then smear it onto a Tiny Trapeze round graham, each one cinnamon spiked and perfectly sized for a single s’more. Add a slab of your favorite dark chocolate, another graham, et voilá — a gooey, melty, outdoor dessert.

If that won’t earn you a merit badge, nothing will.
