Summer Winter Opens

You’ve stashed the summer dresses, and you won’t eat an heirloom tomato again till August. You’ve got a lot to complain about.

Easy there, Pretty McPity. Stop your wallowing and book a table at Summer Winter, the new Burlington (yes, Burlington) restaurant from Mark Gaier and Clark Frasier, chef-owners of the award-winning restaurants Arrows and MC Perkins Cove in Ogunquit.

The tasty menu emphasizes seasonal, local ingredients — so though you’re not going to get those heirlooms in November, you will get plenty of fresh produce from the on-site greenhouse and Arrows’s own orchard and gardens. Plus there’s seafood, like salt cod brandade with johnnycakes and butter-poached oysters. For dessert, how about a gooey winter fruit turnover?

While you’re stuffing yourself, you could start thinking about ice skating and cozy fires.
