Wall-to-wall mirrors. Two pets with your same name. Monogrammed toilet paper.
The only thing missing from the shrine of self-worship that is chez toi? A portrait hanging above your bed. But that’d be too much, even for you.
Not if you call Fort Worth painter John Holt Smith. Lend him your favorite photograph and he’ll create a Sequence painting that’s as singular as you — but not nearly as recognizable.
First he takes the original photo and stretches it into around 800 stripes; then he paints the stunning, abstract result. (You may be familiar with his work from the cover of last year’s Neiman Marcus Christmas Book or DFW’s new international terminal.)
Of course, you could also commission a work based on a photo of someone else.
But something tells us you don’t have many of those lying around.
John Holt Smith (817-271-4030 or jhsstudio.com).
