Note Worthy

Studio Olivine Stationery

You’ve never played the Wii. You still make mix tapes. And you’ve even got a land line.

Obviously, you’re the old-fashioned type.

So when it comes to “thank you,” “happy birthday,” and “dude, I miss you,” you always say it with pen and paper. So dig up the prettiest notes, like letterpress cards from Julie Dutton of Studio Olivine.

Dutton makes her bright, whimsical cards by hand in her new Portland studio. Lush colors meet designs inspired by wood cutting and textiles from the ’20s and ’30s — all of which parade with cheery plants and quirky creatures across thick, recycled paper.

The tasteful designs send the message that there’s more to life than being cutting edge.

In other words, nothing wrong with being stationery.
