Noises Off

Summer Soundtrack

Clear skies, long days, (nearly ripe) strawberries in picking distance. Just don’t tell anyone who doesn’t live here already.

10 a.m.: “L.E.S. Artistes,” by Santogold
(Sleep in. Bop over to Lighthouse Roasters for a latte.)

Noon: “Touch Me I’m Going to Scream Part 2,” by My Morning Jacket
(Walk Greenlake with Scruffy, passing teenagers left and right.)

2 p.m.: “Be Careful,” by Fourth of July
(While grilling those salmon burgers and portobello caps.)

3 p.m.: “Fly Around My Pretty Little Miss,” by Built to Spill
(On a jaunt for seasonal supplies: peaches for pie, dahlias Moonshine for the dining room.)

5 p.m.: “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” by The Beach Boys
(To bike over to Golden Gardens right now?)

6 p.m.: “Your Protector,” by Fleet Foxes
(Sippin’ lemonade, flippin’ through paper.)

7 p.m.: “Rat Is Dead,” by CSS
(Pre-evening, in-house fashion show.)

8 p.m.: “Strumpet Eye,” by Guided by Voices
(Windows rolled down, buddies in the backseat.)

10 p.m.: “Sun Down,” by Nik Freitas
(Hefeweizen with an orange slice.)

1 a.m.: “Coney Island Baby,” by Tom Waits
(Drifting off in a city where the coastal breeze doesn’t carry a whiff of hot dog).
