After a long bout with braces and a short stint in the roller derby rink, you were sure you’d said goodbye to headgear for good.
Until you said hello to Littledoe, a new collection of made-to-order feathery, flowery, neohippie headpieces by Chase Cohl.
Choose one of the several Native American-inspired styles (fantastically regal feathered crows, floral wraps, or tie-dyed braids adorned with crystals and beads) then pick colors and a “feeling,” and Cohl will camp out in her Laurel Canyon summer pad and fashion a topper just for you.
No two are ever the same: Summer of love daisy chains are made from silk flowers; modern headdresses are built using feathers found in small batches; all the velvet and satin ribbon used in each piece is antique.
Pretty heady stuff.
Available at Satine Boutique, 8117 West Third Street, between Kilkea Drive and Crescent Heights Boulevard (323-655-2142); by e-mail order (littledoe@mac.com). To see styles, go to littledoeislove.com.
