Step right up. Step right up. Ladies and gents, don’t be a Lookie Lou.
Come inside and see the amazing Clifton Childree.
The local artist and avant-garde filmmaker will soon unveil his new installation, Dream-Cum-Tru, at the big tent (Locust Projects in Wynwood). The space is being transformed into an abandoned amusement park: a carny nightmare come to life.
Test your luck on the dismal roller coaster. Crawl through the menacing tunnel. Try your hand — or lose it — at the shooting gallery. The surreal exhibit plays like it’s in sepia, as the decrepit buildings transport you to an unsettling past.
The freak show won’t open until Saturday night (complete with two live performances by the artist). But starting tomorrow, you can stop by and watch Childree complete the dreamlike spectacle.
Come one, come all.
