Just Bead It

Rebecca Purcell Necklaces

To your keys you say, “C’mon, I know you’re in there.” To your computer: “Hurry up.” And to your television: “You’ve got to be kidding.”

But when artist Rebecca Purcell talks to objects, they communicate back. Take the vintage fabrics, beads, charms, ribbons, and stones she decodes to determine how best to tell their story.

Purcell forms elegant yet homespun modern necklaces centered around cloth pendants that incorporate the crochet work and knitting of Nepalese women. Each one-of-a-kind creation hangs from a delicate chain peppered with pretty trinkets.

One’s sure to speak to you.
