You haven’t worn purple since Tommy Delucca called you Grape Ape in fifth grade. So what if you were a little chubby?

Might be time to give the royal hue another whirl — in the form of the Purple Pie Company. Local bakeresse Alex Van Clief started the business after friends and family kept asking for her perfect slices of heaven.

PPC’s tagline is “Made from hands, not cans,” which means every pie is au natural. What you won’t find: frozen ingredients, trans fat, preservatives. What you will find: two flavors (apple and blueberry) available year-round, seasonal favorites (this fall it’s pecan), and homemade goodness in both family-size (serves eight) and individual jar varieties (perfect for gifts).

She’ll even customize your pie with a name or message baked into the crust.

And if you don’t have anything nice to say?
