How to Pack (and Win) a Summer Suitcase
Dear John,
I’m leaving you. But only for the weekend. I’ve got my camera and journal on hand so I’ll be able to show you every last little thing.
It’s no secret I need my space. Amazing the Producer overnighter holds everything, isn’t it? I packed that anywhere-anytime Rachel Pally dress and doll-anything-up Susan Hanover jewelery travel set and had plenty of room for my toiletry bag (yep, splurged on Eve Lom to-gos) filled with toothbrush, nontoxic wipes, mini tissues, and By Terry’s versatile Baume de Rose.
Don’t bother calling — I won’t be able to hear the phone with my headphones on. Don’t try to write — though, if they offer Gogo inflight Internet or if I pick up a signal with the handy GoldLantern WiFinder, I’ll try to drop you a line.
And don’t think this is easy for me. I haven’t been able to eat or sleep. But T Spheres massage balls and the incredibly tiny Grilliput will do the trick.
Do think of me often. If you need a visual, picture me in shades and a new Shimmi suit, lounging on my Distant spa wrap/towel with Bananagrams and sunscreen by my side, engrossed in a summer book (or a giant Kindle), like the smart and funny Beowulf on the Beach; It tome Brooklyn; or maybe Foreign Tongue, that breezy escapist fantasy (apropos, no?).
You see why I had to make a getaway, don’t you?
