Twist of the Wrist

Technique Restaurant Opens

Two days and you’re already jonesing for more Top Chef drama. But between Leah and Hosea, Stefan’s stupid Twitter, and Fabio’s drunken-sailor accent, you’d like your next serving with a little more flavor.

Take a seat at Technique, Le Cordon Bleu’s new in-house restaurant where culinary students are on stage behind both the burner and the pen.

The sparsely designed working classroom serves lunch and dinner during the week, so you can play Padma on dishes like short ribs braised in Sam Adams and black pepper fettuccine drizzled in a saffron butter sauce. Entrees top out at $20, and tips go toward a scholarship fund.

Students spend three weeks in the kitchen and three on the floor. But don’t doubt the newbies: Their knife skills are way better than yours.

Not so sure? You be the judge.

Technique, Athenaeum Press Building, 215 First Street, Cambridge (617-218-8088).
