Every morning you enjoy a steaming cup of dirty water with a hint of tar.

Ditch the instant latte. You deserve something delish.

Start at Delicious Cafe, North Center’s newest food and beverage haunt. Owned by adorable couple Kevin Porter and Chelsea Waldrop, it has everything a neighborhood joint should: friendly faces, catchy tunes, damn fine coffee, and fresh food.

The former Half and Halfers know a thing or two about joe, and they’re among the rare few in the city serving Chemex coffee, manually brewing every cup to order.

Delicious’s menu is exactly that: pastries, vegan breakfast sandwiches, peanut butter and banana panini, Waldrop’s famous eggless tofu sandwich, and a handful of vegan sweets.

Summertime delivery (by BMX bikers, no less) and an outdoor patio are in the works.

That’s mighty grande of them.
