Miso Happy

Peko-Peko Japanese Catering

Ariel traded her fins for a human hottie. Hootie dumped the Blowfish. Sometimes a fish out of water is a good thing.

Or in Sylvan Mishima Brackett’s case, out of Waters.

After eight years with Chez Panisse and some crash courses in Tokyo, Brackett launched Peko-Peko Japanese Catering. For his biz (named after the slang term for hungry), he creates Izakaya-style menus with local seafood and seasonal, sustainable ingredients.

Whether you’re booking a small dinner or a wedding reception, Brackett dishes Monterey mackerel sashimi, chicken yakitori, and soy-simmered pork belly on stunning 19th-century Japanese plates.

He also does monthly bento box deliveries (sign up on his site) loaded with everything from Dungeness crab to miso cod.

All mouthwatering, of course.
