It began as a series of small outbreaks (invasions of parabens, insurgent sulfates, conflicts of phthalates).

But one mango-coconut lotion at a time, it escalated into chemical warfare. Reports of rashes and irritation were not uncommon.

No longer willing to stand by as agents of skin destruction waged, Cindy Chang launched The Green Bubble body oils. The blends — patchouli and lavender, vetiver and hemp, and chamomile and sage — can be used for massage, moisturizing, bath, or to scent candles (simply pour into the pool of melted wax). The pure essential oils are mixed into a base of plant oils like organic hemp for a nutritive result.

Chang also does individual scents (wild sweet orange, Chinese citrus, and eucalyptus are among the choices). And since they’re 100 percent plant based, there’s no threat of an adverse reaction.
