When looking to impress visiting Americans, don’t make them eat black pudding (“That’s gross, man”) or subject them to EastEnders (“Such a downer”).
Take them to the Palm, located on the former site of Drones in Belgravia, and they’ll stop their moaning. The only London outpost of the popular stateside steakhouse is open now (and, astoundingly, offering 50 per cent off food until the official launch on Friday).
On the menu are classic Yankee favourites, including USDA Prime beef, lobster bisque, creamed spinach, cottage fries and broiled crab cakes — with traditional New York cheesecake and carrot cake served up for dessert.
If that’s not enough the weirdly friendly, American-style service should knock their socks off.
They’ll be, like, totally stoked.
