Church Boutique Opens for Appointments

Are you there, God? It’s me, Margaret.

I can’t wait until 2 o’clock. That’s when I have my appointment at Church. The new clothing and lifestyle boutique in Hollywood isn’t officially, technically, ceremoniously going steady with the public yet, but anyone can go in if they just call ahead.

Do you know owners Rodney Burns and David Malvaney, God? They’re majoring in new designers and one-of-a-kind pieces. Inside the industrial space, JMary and Vintage by Coquette mix with Raquel Allegra, Diadem copper belts, and some stuff not even Sylvia (she’s the one with the big you-know-whats) has seen before, like Andy Paiko blown glass.

I know I’ll find something special to wear to the dance. Maybe I’ll even get a Literature Noir scarf or a Native Candle for camp.

It’ll be better than seven minutes in heaven.
