It's All Relative

Nana Opens

Thirty-five hours of labor, eighteen years of insolence, and a mushroom switcheroo (talk about the moral of morels).

You really did a number on Mama.

Too bad you’re not more like brothers Omar and Christian Solis, who named their new Bridgeport breakfast and lunch spot Nana, after their lovely mother. Opening today in the same building where the boys grew up, Nana brings organic, American fare with a hint of Latin flavor to hungry South Siders.

Exec chef Jeremy Bonczyk (Nxxt, CJ’s Eatery) spices things up with Nanadict (cheese-stuffed corn flatbread, homemade chorizo, poached eggs), Liège waffles with caramelized beads of pearl sugar, and a generations-old Solis recipe for baked chilaquiles (layered tortilla casserole, cheese, poblano sauce, eggs).

Mama Maria Solis is the pastry chef, whipping up sweets like chocolate chip ricotta cake.

One bite and you’ll taste the love.

It’s a parent.
