The last love letter you got was from Billy Reynolds. It was sixth grade, and he thought your ponytail was “totally cute.”
Since then it’s been downhill — all late-night text messages and remorseful e-cards.
Isn’t it time to bring back that lovin’ feeling? Start by entering the Bright Star love letter contest in honor of the new film about the literary love affair between English poet John Keats (Ben Whishaw) and the coquettish Fanny Brawne (Abbie Cornish).
Submit either a traditional, handwritten letter or a “little tweet something” (for the tech lovers). Like the impassioned correspondence of yore, contest entries should display creativity, originality, and heartfelt turns of phrase.
The ten best handwritten and tweet entries will be posted on the official Bright Star site for user voting from November 21 to 30. After that it’s up to the panel of pro judges (romantics, no doubt), who will choose one winner plus five runners-up in each category.
The top writer gets an Everlon diamond pavé ring from A Diamond Is Forever, while the best tweeter wins an Everlon diamond pendant necklace.
Because some romantic gestures never go out of style.
Film opens in select theaters September 18. See the trailer and submit your official contest entry online at brightstar-movie.com.
