I am the owner of Eco-Friendly Maid Service and have to say that I agree and slightly disagree with you. I agree with you about the people who are unable to haul their recycling to the curb or even to the nearest recycling center. I also agree with you in saying that green advocates are often thought of as snobs and/or extremist. I slightly disagree because I feel that the article was meant to be more humorous than politically correct. I must defend Daily Candy in this article though as I am sure their choice of words were not meant to harm or offend anyone. I am sure they were going for the "witty" effect, perhaps they succeeded or perhaps they failed, but in my opinion they did extremely well. I thank Daily Candy for the article and hope for another in the future and I also commend you for stating your views and hope that no one else was offended by the wording in this article. I love this site and have not had any negative reason to comment until now. While I appreciate alliteration, I was a little unhappy and a bit offended by the following: "Green Maid is designed for those too lazy, loopy, or listless to haul household recycling to the curb." There are an awful lot of people who cannot haul their recycling to the curb due to illness, surgery, an accident or advanced age. Those of us who are green advocates/activists (yes, I drive a Prius, recycle etc) are often criticized as being , to say the least, a bit snobby. I feel that copy such as the example cited only serves to reinforce this misconception. It also reflects negatively on Green Maid. I am fairly certain they did not write the copy and so I urge your copywriters to consider carefully their choice of words. ZuZee

Our Atlanta Maid Service recently started offering green cleaning products and within 6 months over half of our client base has changed to green cleaning only. The interesting thing is buy buying in bulk, it is actually cheaper to provide green. Also our cleaners are not getting as sick as often due to harsher chemicals with bleach and amonia. All in all it has been a very successful transition.
