Lia Kes Studio Opens in Cow Hollow

In cards, as in life, you play your trump card only when there’s a lot at stake.

Which is why, the next time you’ve got to ante up (a big job interview, hot first date) you’ll want to gamble on a piece from designer Lia Kes.

Kes, who just opened her first boutique in Cow Hollow, creates chic basics with a twist. Details like a zippered cowl-neck on a draped, all-season, black knit dress, or beaded cuffs on a form-fitting, long-sleeved frock, add a touch of scintillation. Her genius blue, white, and navy color-block dress can actually be unzipped and worn as a strapless top.

Everything has a tailored, fitted feel without being overly structured. And though there are a few eye-catching shots of color, the pieces stay subtle by using mostly neutrals.

Wouldn’t want to tip your hand.
