MBurger Opens

mburger!

In foodie trends, lowbrow is the new highbrow.

Which may be why Tru transformed its pastry kitchen into a burger joint. MBurger opens tomorrow, just off the Mag Mile.

Chef Tim Hockett (Tru, Nacional 27) is making grease-free, grain-fed Midwest beef patties, fresh veggies, tasty fries, toasty buns, and milk shakes so creamy that not even winter can stop you from sucking one down.

Options include MBurger with bacon and secret sauce, the cheeseburger with sharp American, and Nurse Betty veggie sandwich with lemony guac. The off-menu caramel shake is a must.

The teensy space seats only eight with a counter window exposing Tru’s kitchen. A summer patio will accommodate 40, but the grub’s meant for grab and go.

Surprise: Burgers cost $2.99. Watch it, McDonald’s.

It should be called Mmm Burger.

GRAINFED!!! As if that's 'special'? What was your writer thinking? That's just commercial beef. Find a place serving GRASSFED burgers and you'll be on the right track. You are missing the whole food revolution!

Is "grain-fed" an error? Because that's not exactly something people should be looking for in their beef.
