Liberty London

A fashion institution as much as a shop. Fashion-forward clothing, accessories, housewares, jewellery and an astonishing beauty department all under one beautiful Tudor mansion roof.

Stanley Korshak Dallas

Three-floor emporium for high-end fashion ranging from upscale contemporary women’s clothing such as M Missoni to Christian Louboutin shoes and men’s Armani blazers. The family-owned boutique also hosts regular trunks shows with budding designers like NYC-based Ruffian and Elizabeth Showers, a local jewelry line.

Super-swanky department store with New York City roots. Expect loads of designer labels. The brand’s signature (and somewhat affordable) enamel bangles are legendary.

Bergdorf Goodman New York

These are premier designers and their luxury goods. Must admit that just swinging that fudge-striped bag around town somehow feels over the top.

Nordstrom Dallas

Only a few years old, this Nordstrom is one of the Seattle-based chain’s coolest with super chic displays and decor. The men’s, women’s, teens, and children’s fashions (don’t miss the signature shoe section) are fashion forward, but fairly affordable. The third floor hosts home decor, the in-house resto, and under-the-radar spa.

Neiman Marcus Dallas

If only the walls could talk. The chain’s original location strictly edits collections, unlike other locales. Don’t miss the resto’s homemade popovers with strawberry butter and the yummy first-floor shoe salon with Main Street views.

Barneys New York Seattle

The wacky window displays, Barneys Babble, pinhead mannequins, and wondrous sales make us devotees. Then there are the clothes, shoes, and jewelry from designers we love all under one roof.

Fenwick London

A smaller, fashion-focused department store (easier to navigate and not as crowded as nearby Selfridges) with an interesting mix of well-known names and emerging talent. The ground-floor accessories section is always tempting, while the lingerie department is one of the cosiest in town.
