Let Seth Hendricks and Zach Kell of Goin’ Coastal show you the more literal definition at your next party: They’ll arrive with a whole hog, cook it from start to finish (three to four hours), and serve it with sides like grits and collards or corn with salsa verde.

The guys bring the steamers, pig-roasting equipment, and tableware. You bring your curiosity (assisting the chef is welcomed), your appetite, and everyone you want to break bread, er, pull pork with.

Squeamish friends on the guest list? Trade in the porker for a crawfish feast or Low Country boil of shrimp, seasonal crab, corn, red taters, and andouille sausage.
