Party at Ponce
What: Throw down with tunes from the Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, and Francine Reed paired with food from chefs like Anne Quatrano (Bacchanalia), Jay Swift (4th & Swift), Hugh Acheson (Empire State South), and Shaun Doty (Yeah Burger) in the former City Hall East before it becomes Ponce City Market (a cool mixed-use development).
Why: A portion of the proceeds benefits the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and Georgia Organics.

What: Studs and bitches alike will drool over colorful, clever neckwear ($34), like the What Would Lassie Do style and electric ’80s print by graphic designer/canine lover Shari Margolin.
Why: Each month 10 percent of proceeds goes to a different dog-related charity (Puppies Behind Bars thru Oct. 31).

Flux 2011 Event
What: More than 30 public art projects (dance, music, theater, projections, multimedia, sound and light installations, parades, puppetry) take over the streets and vacant spaces of Castleberry Hill, culminating in a pyrotechnics display.
