Art Gallery and Think Space Opens

beauty & brawn art gallery think space!

Your small wonder was born with brains and looks. (Don’t hit the tree on your way down, apple.)

See how creativity also comes naturally at Beauty & Brawn Art Gallery and Think Space. The just-opened Logan Square spot hosts art exhibits and classes for kids as young as 3. Owner Lindsey Meyers, a mixed-media artist and mom, has an organic, go-with-the-flow approach and stirs kids to seek inspiration from their urban surroundings.

Sessions include It’s a Beautiful Day in My Neighborhood, during which kids explore the idea of community by taking walks and incorporating found objects into art projects. Mishmosh: Mixed Media is a session that encourages artists-in-training to mix texture, color, and shape. In Mommy & Matisse and Daddy & Degas, they’re coached to paint or draw in the styles of famous painters.

The magic happens in an art deco-style salon with black cast-iron chandeliers, a communal farm table, and white taffeta curtains.

It’s a born winner.

Beauty & Brawn Art Gallery and Think Space, 3501 West Fullerton Avenue, at St. Louis Avenue (773-772-9808). To register, go to beautyandbrawngallery.com. Six-week sessions, $108-$180; drop-in classes, $20-$32.
