Ariel Clute Necklaces

Your neck needs love, too

ariel clute!

We hate to break up a good arm party, but somewhere between the hashtags and trademarks, things got a little out of hand.

Explore new adventures in accessorizing with wild, colorful necklaces from Ariel Clute.

The local designer has a background in visual arts (she studied painting and printmaking at California College of the Arts), but it was her desire for a creative outlet after motherhood that spawned an interest in sculptural jewelry.

Made from an assortment of materials (leather, vintage glass beads, cotton, wool pom-poms from Thailand), her necklaces are like wearable postcards from My Little Pony’s North Asian adventure.

Need an icebreaker? Clute’s cobalt tassel strand connected with cream beads and blue leather gives them plenty to talk about. A multitassel version, looped in rainbow-hued threads and tempered with camel leather, is prettier than party garland. Every necklace is one of a kind.

Keeping things on the up-and-up.

Available at Erica Tanov, 2408 Fillmore Street, between Washington and Jackson Streets (415-674-1228 or ericatanov.com), $200-$260. To see styles, go to ariel-clute.tumblr.com.
