Taste the Love at Better Half

PushStart Kitchen supper club becomes a restaurant

“This is the restaurant Atlanta built.”

So says Zach Meloy, co-owner of Midtown’s Better Half. He and his wife, Cristina, fed intimate groups in their home for the last two and a half years via supper club PushStart Kitchen; thanks to devoted diners and Kickstarter, the restaurant becomes a reality.

Bold Southern-meets-Latin American eats such as Peruvian ceviche and pork shoulder confit with salsa pipian change daily, but the decadent silk handkerchief pasta always stays; Meloy made it for his lady on their first date.

The familial vibe remains in the warm, 46-seat space with tables fashioned from a local sycamore. Belly up to the bar overlooking the kitchen and the chefs (Meloy and his sidekick, Jonathan Miller) serve you themselves. Slurp a hibiscus soda (alcohol arrives in the new year), and expect PushStart touches such as postmeal truffles.

You earned it.
