Raise a Glass at Vine & Tap

The Buckhead bar is vino nirvana

vine & tap!

You’ve outgrown the Franzia, but stuffy wine bars make you claustrophobic.

Vine & Tap, opening Friday, is a blend you’ll want to drink in.

The Buckhead spot from sommelier Ian Mendelsohn (he used to run the Vegas vino game, then St. Regis Buckhead’s) and his wife, Susan, serves fine wines from all over the world at modest markups ($30-$160). Most are available by the glass (the high-tech Coravin system keeps open bottles fresh), and reds and whites on tap are served in liter and half-liter carafes. Local beer from Monday Night Brewing, Wrecking Bar, and more are available for the wine averse (those weirdos).

Pull up to the long stone bar, sprawl on purple banquettes, or welcome spring (here’s hoping) on the tree-covered patio. Soak up the sauce with portobello and pancetta bruschetta, cheese and charcuterie, or salmon croquettes (psst, champagne and popcorn pairings happen on Fridays).

This place has legs.

Vine & Tap, 2770 Lenox Road Northeast, Buckhead (404-228-8848 or vineandtapatl.com). Dinner guests get a free glass of champagne this Friday; seatings start at 5 p.m.
