Come to think of it, life has been a little fairy taleish lately. A slew of summertime Prince Charmings. A frizz-proof blowout that beats the hell out of Rapunzel’s dorky side braid any day.
No wonder you find yourself heading over the river and through Edgewood to Little Five’s Finley Park, where the smell of hot banana bread French toast at Grandma Lukes Bakery and Cafe already has the city hungrier than any Big Bad Wolf.
Damsels low on beauty sleep can rest assured: They’re open for lunch, too, serving pressed peanut butter and banana sandwiches, grilled cheese with cheddar and pepper jack, and Southern comfort specials like meatloaf, which you can customize at the counter.
As if the entrees weren’t tempting enough, the made-to-order cakes and cookies are plenty decadent for any occasion. In fact, they’re almost too pretty to gobble right up.
Almost.
