Chow, Bella

Oh, you’ve mastered the art of the foodie euphemism, alright. Shoebox-small? Nooo: quaint and intimate. Uncomfortably pungent? Neeever, no way: intriguingly aromatic.

The list (and pretty soon, the length of your nose) could go on and on.

No need to tell tales about Toscano & Sons, a new West Midtown Italian market whose spice-scented, cozy space makes for a really (truly) rewarding culinary experience.

Get your fill of imported cucina staples (fig molasses, handmade pastas, and meats packed fresh at the deli counter) and craveable add-ons (they’ve somehow fanangled single-serving sauces from exclusive pasta club Via Elisa down the street).

Hungry? Grab a Peroni and a mini antipasti platter (dried tomato, olives, and mixed cheeses) straight from the stocked chiller and take a seat at the teensy street-facing dining counter in front.

Because when it’s all said and done, there’s no need for pretense when it comes to great food.

And that’s the plain truth.

Toscano & Sons, 1000 Marietta Street, suite 106, West Midtown (404-815-8383 or toscanoandsons.com).
