Always ready to dish, are we? Then decked-out plates by Trixie Delicious will be your latest good word. Auckland-based artist Karen Dennis takes vintage dishes (dainty patterned china is her favorite) and vandalizes them with wickedly clever scrawlings.
Her ever-growing collection isn’t for the slow of wit or weak of stomach. The Seven Deadly Sins saucer set admits mortal vices (pride, envy, greed) when you lift your cup, while Kiss and Tell bowls betray your favorite pastimes. There’s even a platter that, when you get to the bottom of it, says “Dickwad.”
We hear she’s doing pots and kettles next.
They’ll be calling each other black, no doubt.
