Last week it was a late-night Chinese food binge. Then there was that 11 a.m. hot-fudge sundae. Pray, how can we ever repent?
What’s that, Father? You’d have us sin again? Oh! You said Syn, as in that little workout studio in Waltham. We’ve heard those guys have some new takes on fitness. Like personal training with a twist.
During the first visit, a trainer assesses your fitness level with a few tests, then customizes a training circuit that’s right for you. Expect a synergy of moves from yoga and Pilates to weights and cardio. Each trainer takes on just three people at a time, and you work out by appointment three times a week. When the regimen gets too easy, the staff is armed with another tailor-made program faster than you can say, “Hail, Mary.”
Another plus: Memberships are month-to-month, and there’s no initiation fee, which means extra cash for other earthly indulgences.
