De la Renta. The look that launched a thousand fashion spreads, the name that sparked this year’s Fashion Cares titterings, the inspiration behind designer Melissa Tabor.
Wait, who?
Okay, maybe the whole town isn’t abuzz about her yet, but it will be. The AIU grad interned for both de la Renta and Gucci, learning the ins and outs of formal womenswear design before launching her own teensy collection last year.
This season she returns to Atlanta with modern classics, like summer-ending cotton knits with architectural V-necks, cap sleeves, and rounded collars with touches of structured lace.
For cooler temps, she’s got a few more tricks up her sleeve. Navy smocks, wine-colored tunics, and chocolate pencil skirts in velvet and tweed (keep an eye out for the back flutes — you’ll never see ’em coming) dictate her winter line.
Just in time. Given her track record, you’ll warm up to her soon enough.
