You were born in the wrong era. You would have rocked the flapper look (ciggy and all). Thrown around words like barney-mugging and daddy-o. Decked your pad in deco.
But then you found out about prohibition. Um, no thanks.
Here’s a way to invoke the Roaring Twenties without giving up the tipple: Speakeasy, bearcat-cum-designer Sally Tseng’s new line, inspired by the decade’s pure shape and color blocks.
Taiwan-born and FIT-trained, Tseng uses men’s tailoring techniques to create sophisticated cuts that flatter a dame’s curves. Flaunt your guns (pardon, ma’am) in Bugsy, a tuxedo-inspired dress. Show a little gam in the razor-back, black-and-white Taylor. And throw on Biloxi, a flowing, circle-patterned blouse with a back slit, for hot nights at the old gin mill — or that new watering hole just off Elizabeth.
Thank goodness for the 21st Amendment.
Because this clearly merits a toast.
