And Then, There Was Quick Fire

If bars had food trivia nights, you’d win the XXXL “I Got Bombed at …” T-shirt every time. (The Barefoot Contessa was a former White House nuke policy expert! Paula Deen was agoraphobic! )

Hard to believe, we know.

Instead of scaring off drinking buddies with your encyclopedic resto knowledge, grab a seat at Gourmet Studio, the new, twice-a-month, chef interview/cook-off challenge at West Midtown’s LITKitchen.

Hosted by Carmen Cappello (M!X, Sweet Lowdown— but you knew that already), the show orders local chefs to drop their whisks and dish for 45 minutes. (FYI: Pura Vida’s Hector Santiago drinks 420 and has a soft spot for the Vienna sausage and rice paella he loved as a kid.)

Next up on the menu: a thirty-minute, Iron Chef-style competition against Cappello. Who will win when Dolce’s Don Diem dons the guest apron next Monday?

You’ll have to go with your gut on that one.
